As a Principle Designer at Backbase, I worked within the showcase team – a fantastic multidisciplinary scrum team – we concepted, designed and prototyped features that empowered customer-facing teams and partners to showcase Backbase’s Banking-as-a-Service capabilities.
I was fortunate to work across various fintech features on apps (iOS and Android) and web platforms – utilising user insights and research to design solutions for retail banking, business banking, and employee dashboards.
Responsibilities included:
– working together with other product development teams within Backbase to elevate their designs to fit within the Showcase look and feel
– Conceptualising and designing future focussed banking features such as gifting, in-app credit cards, personal and home loan applications, and real-time communication for customer service and support.
– Mentoring and leading junior designers in the team and participating in the design community within Backbase.
Design Features included:
– Improved app navigation, including an easy-access product application menu
– A end-to-end credit card application process within the app
– A personal loan application and management feature that was easy and intuitive across app and web
– Home loan refinancing application and application tracker, with designs for both the customer-facing portal and the employee dashboard
– SME Business application screens and account management dashboards
